Crossings: an evening of art and storytelling about the refugee journey

Celebrate World Art Day with IRIS and artist Katharine Gould on Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 5pm to 8pm at St. Paul’s Commons with a reception including hearty hors d’oeuvres, hosted bar sponsored by Sanctus Aquam Tequila, live music, storytelling, and art exhibit showcasing Ms. Gould’s powerful series “Exodus.”

Using the rich, undiluted, colors of pastel with the hands of a sculptor, Ms. Gould models the landscape, bathing it in light and shadow. “I have always been drawn to and affected by human flight, in all its forms. Flight from fear to safety, from isolation to intimacy, from anger to love, and from horror of the unknown.”

IRIS is proud to exhibit Ms. Gould’s work at St. Paul’s Commons through June 2023. All pieces will be available for sale. Proceeds go to IRIS’ general operations fund, providing refugee resettlement and pro-bono immigration legal services.
